ABOUT HUBER MOUNTAIN

Up in the Los Gatos Mountains, above Silicon Valley at 2400 feet, rests the private retreat Huber Mountain.  Above the fog line, away from city lights, where all stars are visible, visitors can feel a sense of peace and emotional respite from contemporary society to work on their creative endeavors.  Our charming hummingbird sanctuary has grown to feed over 3000 during the warmer months and many new trees and plants are put in each year.  We continue improvements and planting on a yearly basis. Currently there is a two room, full bath cottage, main house with guest room and wonderful surroundings for photography, video, painting, music composing, and other arts.

We have had visitors who created published works of fiction, poetry, music, videos, photography, and we hosted the feature film "Maya Dardel" in 2015.  There are over 70 mountain wine growers in the area and we have special relationships with several of the vineyards and tasting rooms.  A lovely mountain or canyon drive within an hour can enable one to visit Silicon Valley, the charming towns of Los Gatos, Felton, Morgan Hill, the garlic town of Gilroy and the beach towns of CapitolaSanta Cruz and Santa Cruz area beaches.  Within a hour and a half one can visit the picturesque mission town of San Juan Bautista southeast, Carmel-By-The-Sea, Monterey and Elkhorn Slough Reserve south, Ano Nuevo Natural Preserve west (the largest mainland breeding colony of the northern elephant seal), Henry Coe Park east (the largest state park in northern California, with over 87,000 acres of wild open spaces).  In the local mountain canyons are Rancho Canada del Oro Preserve  (hiking, mountain biking, horse riding), Calero Reservoir and Park (fishing, boating, hiking) and Uvas Canyon Park (hiking, camping, waterfalls). San Francisco is within two hours north.

The property is Wifi enabled.  We have fruit trees and berries, an organic garden, spaces throughout the gardens and trees to sit and quietly work on projects, and a large hummingbird population.  Visitors come to the property by private invitation.
